How I price and sell my ceramic coating services

  Most detailers don't want to describe coatings by how many years they last. There are too many variables involved like how is the vehicle stored, how is it washed, how often is it washed, how many miles driven per month...
  Mentioning how long a coating lasts is the easiest thing for a consumer to grab onto and the quickest way to understand where their money is going (value). With that you will hear one year, two year, seven year, 9 plus years and even lifetime by some coating manufactures and installers. To accomplish anything over five years is extremely difficult and just not possible. But that will make for another great blog.
  Here are my three steps that I go over while explaining ceramic coatings and my services to a potential client.
Step 1
How long do you plan on keeping your car? The easiest way as a consumer for you to determine where or how to spend your money gaining the best value is to know how long you plan to keep your vehicle. This tells me which of the three coatings I offer to talk about first and which may be the best fit for you. Along with length of ownership I will also ask - Is the vehicle parked outside or garage kept? Do you wash frequently and is it soft touch or touchless wash? These questions will tell me how the vehicle is cared for and if a coating is even the right choice.
Step 2
Break down my process? I am transparent with all my services to build the best experience I can offer and a place you can return to. The bulk of what I charge is in fact the process and not the coating. Ceramic coatings do work and are amazing and there is value in that but the labor is the most time consuming part. While coatings whether it be wax, sealant or ceramic do add gloss and slickness it is the polishing of the paint that really creates the near flawless finish and the bulk of the wow factor. While paint polishing really is a must there is a small window when prior polishing is not necessary. If the paint finish is near flawless and you're happy with it prior to coming to me I will apply a coating without polishing and that is where my one year coating works great.
Step 3
Which coating is the best fit? I offer three coatings all ceramic based; 1 year, 3 years and 5 years.
One Year:
  If you are opting out of having me polish your paint finish the best value in coatings is my one year. It is low cost for product, easy to install and if you chose to have it done in another 12-18 months the compounded cost will still be less then my other packages saving you money. Because coatings lock in the current look of the finish, without polishing it just doesn't make sense to spend the extra money on the other coatings and labor if the paint is not going to be near flawless. Three Year:
  Besides increased gloss this coating will add considerable slickness making it even easier to wash and clean. If you lease vehicles or you like to move on from old and buy a new(er) vehicle every three to four years then our three year coating will be a great fit. Five Year:
   Our five year coating is a professional only product that the installer must be trained and certified through hyperClean to install. And because of it's chemical make up, somewhat fussy nature to apply and product cost this easily becomes a higher cost package for those who really love and enjoy their vehicle. No matter what you drive from Chevy Malibu to Cadillac to Porsche and Ferrari it is a mentality, a feeling of comfort and joy, some say a life style.
